techShield is our branded name for managed services. Technology
Partners has offered monthly flat-fee contracts for several years, but it’s become much more than a controlled cost for our clients. What we have added has turned a monthly contract into a managed services solution.

Traditionally, computer consulting companies like ours have performed troubleshooting and other technical services on a break-fix basis. The client discovers something is no longer working on their computers and then calls for an appointment.

This model may work if the client is willing to wait until a technician can arrive on-site and they’ve described the problem enough for us to send someone with the necessary qualifications and tools.

But, today—our clients want a faster response time. Nearly instant. Technology is so complex, that they would prefer we know all about the problem even before they do. And wouldn’t it be great if all this could be provided without an hourly charge—but for a budgeted flat fee.

What are the Costs?

A Technology Partners business consultant can provide you with a specific quote. We can include support for just your servers or for all your computers and servers. We can include Antivirus
licenses, remote backup of your servers over the Internet, travel time, web-site & e-mail hosting, multiple location coverage for those with several offices, and more.

Aside from the options, the monthly fee is based mostly on the number and types of servers and the number of desktop and laptop computers.

How does techShield save you money?

techShield is billed at a flat monthly rate based mostly on the number of
computers a client wants supported. Most clients will take their past break-fix
billings for the year and divide it by 12 to calculate their average monthly technology support expenses.
techShield will usually be a little higher because when a client is paying a flat fee rather than by the hour, they tend to really use our
services. And without requiring prior
approval to perform work, we can do more remote or on-site preventive
maintenance.
